The proposal is for the customer. It carries your business name, the scope by zone with R-values, one price, your exclusions and terms when you have added them, and a place to sign. It carries none of your costs, rates or margin.

The order sheet is yours. It lists the sets to order by product with your set costs and what the foam comes to, as a PDF or a CSV, so it is not a document for the customer. The same step sends your supplier an order list of the sets alone.

The crew sheet is for the crew. It lists each zone with its product, thickness and passes, the sets to load and total board feet, with no prices on it.

Yes. Bid Pricing works a price from the job's totals, and the job price is yours: type your own, or take the one Bid Pricing worked out. Whatever you enter prints on the proposal as the total, and the app shows your profit at that price under it. Leave the price empty and the proposal prints a blank price line to write on.

Every figure FoamCalc starts with is a default you can change. Yields, job condition losses, R per inch, max lift and production rates are in the Reference tab, in the free tier as well as Pro; set costs are in your products. The R-values and set yields are widely published insulation and spray foam rules of thumb rather than a standard anyone is bound to. The other figures, such as the default job conditions and the starting set cost, are FoamCalc's own. Your own job history will beat them all, and the yield log suggests a default from your own jobs, which you accept or decline.

No, and this is deliberate. The R-value solver returns inches for a target R-value and never issues a pass or fail. The reference table is labeled with its edition, 2021 IECC prescriptive minimums, and the app always tells you to verify current requirements with your local building department, since code adoption and amendments vary by state and province.

Free is the board-foot calculator: area times thickness, closed cell or open cell, the sets at the drum-label yield, up to five saved calculations, the Reference tab's figures open to edit, and a look at your calculation as the bid document a customer would get.

Pro is the job: the seven steps, sets to order by product, job cost and profit, the proposal, the order sheet and the crew sheet, saved jobs, real-yield adjustment and the yield log, set inventory, the R-value solver, flash and batt, the pass planner, the production estimator, unlimited templates and export.

The trial is on the annual plan only, for new subscribers. The store shows it at checkout. Cancel before the 14 days end and you are not charged; otherwise the annual plan starts when the trial ends. The monthly plan has no trial.

FoamCalc is for iPhone and Android, and it is sold in the United States and Canada. Prices are in US dollars; the store sets your local currency and any tax at checkout.

Open FoamCalc's upgrade screen and tap Restore at the top. This re-checks your Apple ID or Google account for an existing subscription and re-applies it. No new charge is made. FoamCalc also checks the store each time it opens. It works after reinstalling the app or switching phones, as long as you are signed into the same App Store or Google Play account you bought with.

Subscriptions are managed through your Apple ID or Google account, not on this website. In the app, About and Settings has a Manage or cancel in the store button that takes you there. Or, on an iPhone: Settings, your name, Subscriptions. On Android: the Google Play Store app, your profile, Payments and subscriptions, Subscriptions. Canceling stops future billing, and you keep Pro through the end of the period you already paid for.

No. FoamCalc has no accounts, no login and no email capture of any kind. FoamCalc sends nothing anywhere and has no analytics: your saved calculations, jobs, templates, products, inventory and yield log are stored on your phone, and they leave it only when you share a document or a backup file.

Yes. Everything works offline, including the job steps and the documents. You can use it in a crawlspace or an attic with no bars. Sending a document to someone else uses your phone's share sheet, which needs a connection when you send, and buying or restoring Pro needs the store.

In About and Settings, tap Save a backup file. FoamCalc writes one file carrying your products, saved jobs, templates, inventory, yield log, saved calculations and your edits to the reference defaults, and hands it to the share sheet so you can send it to yourself, your drive or your bookkeeper. On any phone, Restore from a backup file reads it back. Restoring replaces what is on that phone, and the app shows you what the file holds and what the phone holds before it does anything. The file does not carry Pro; Pro comes back from the store on any phone. It is a copy, not a link: two phones do not stay in step.

On Android, when device backup is turned on, the phone also keeps a copy of FoamCalc's data in the owner's Google account and restores it onto a replacement phone signed into the same account. The Pro entitlement is left out of that copy on purpose, so the new phone asks the store instead. We have not yet restored an iPhone from a backup to confirm the same there, so on iPhone use the backup file.

Uninstalling FoamCalc removes its saved data from the phone, and there is no account to recover it from. Before you uninstall, save a backup file from About and Settings; restoring it brings everything back. On Android, a copy may also still exist in your Google account's device backup if you had backups turned on.
